Design principles are the rules that a designer must follow to create a successful and attractive design. The basic principles of design are Emphasis, Balance and Alignment, Brightness, Multiplication, Measurement, Movement, and White Space.

Design is different from art because it has to have a purpose. Visually, this functionality is interpreted by ensuring that the image has a centre of attention, the focus point.

You may be thinking, ‘But wait! I thought the design was about inventing things? ’If you are a businessman or a beginner, you may be tempted to mix and match the first five types of writing with eye-catching colors, believing that you are creating something new and new. You will probably find yourself with a messy, unfinished design, or well, just bad.

Photographic design, like any other discipline, adheres to the strict rules that apply to the underground to make the work more stable and balanced. If the design does not have that balance, it will be weak and ineffective.
