All over the news you can hear, that was in Ukraine is coming: it happens like every day and most people in Ukraine either left the country already or packed an emergency bag with money, documents and first-aid kits. Still, many companies keep on working in Ukraine and our company is one of them.

Of course, being in the atmosphere of upcoming war causes a lot of stress: on one hand, employees can panic from time to time and on the other hand, some new clients can prefer companies from more stable countries since in that case their projects won’t be affected or put at risk. And as a CEO you need to accumulate all your energy and powers to show the best anti-crisis management skills.

Internal Solutions

The first, and the most important in fact, is not to let panic grow inside of the company. In situations like the one that goes on in Ukraine now — no one can predict what will happen and when will it be happening. So, the best thing you can do here is to calm the employees down and don’t let them run away from workplaces searching for a calmer place.

First of all, you need to be next to them: don’t leave the country yourself. Since if you are in a panic, why others should stay calm? Captain remains with his ship till the end! So, you need to be next to the employees and your company. Or if the business is shared between 2 people: at least one of you should remain at the workplace.

Secondly, you need to stay honest and talkative: keep people posted. Share news you heard (but reframe even the most stressful once in positive — try to think critically about all the information you see and share only sober thoughts with employees). Talk about the situation, discuss what will you do in case something goes on. Let people know, that they will be able to grab laptops and run from the country, saving their workplaces and income. Let people know they are not at risk of losing financial stability and workplace.
