How many times in the last 30 days have you used the following words: metrics, ROI, budget, success, or business?

Conversely, how many times have you used words such as UI, users, color, layout, or design system?

Are you more likely to say “Better for the user” or “Better for the business”? Why so? Why not the other one? And most importantly… why not both?

The (un)hidden power of design

As a designer, you’ve got a power that most people in your organization don’t — you can turn abstract ideas and conversations into reality. We’ve witnessed massive changes in the design field and job market recently, where demand for design generalists or hybrid UX/UI designers has drastically increased, while sadly the demand for graphic and visual designers has declined.

However, just as we’re seeing those changes in today’s market, it’s also no longer enough to stay confined in your comfort zone of Figma, Adobe XD, or whichever other design tool you’re using. If you prioritize improving your soft skills, you won’t need to worry about being replaced by AI. Why?
