To say that digital has changed the way consumers live their day-to-day life is today a perfect commonplace. This is no longer information that we can verify or not. It is one of the clearest evidence of contemporary society.
There are business today that did not exist a few years ago, very few ago. With this evolution, a large number of new professions appeared while others almost disappeared. Consumption habits are different, needs and requirements too.
All this evolution took place at the expense of the digital world that has been growing over our heads but also with the commitment and innovation of many professional areas that have been able to transform and seize the opportunities, as well as the challenges that have appeared to them through creation and development of digital products for many of the needs of everyday life.
Education and creative industry
If we look at all the challenges and opportunities in the creation of digital products in the current context it is very easy to perceive the importance of continuous and specialized education in the development path of any professional. As in many other areas of creative industry activity, education and the training proposals associated with it have been a very interesting development in recent years.
Whether it is through the adoption of new pedagogical models, the closer relationship with the labor market or the focus on the eminently practical approach, many are the training proposals that inside and outside Portugal have contributed to the empowerment, qualification and specialization of a whole new class of professionals who work digital not as a result of the exodus from other areas of creativity but rather as natives in that context.
Never before has there been so many schools capable of training professionals of excellence. Never before has there been such a great need for people capable of thinking and drawing digital products. Never before networks and partnership work have been so relevant to the activity of the various stakeholders — professionals, companies, schools, associations, etc. — from what we can call the creative industry.
