How to design a better UI wizard?
Lead the user through a series of tasks in a specific order.

Wizards break down simple and complex activities into a multistep process, lowering the likelihood of human error. They work by decreasing the risk of ability required to complete each function.
The wizard has several functions:
- Gives significant information about the process.
- The number of steps required to complete the task is shown.
- Gives the user an update on their progress.
- Allows the user to go through the wizard in either a linear or non-linear order.
Importance

You can successfully reduce the process by breaking it down into a series of chunks, each of which can be dealt with in its own independent “mind frame” by the user.
You’ve created a pre-planned road map through the process, saving the user the time and effort of figuring out the task’s structure — all he has to do now is address each step one at a time, confident that everything will work out well if one follows the directions.
Long forms can be made more usable

Long forms may be irritating in a variety of ways and are also known for frightening users, allowing them to abandon your website without completing the form. This is because long forms appear to demand a lot of steps to obtain.
If you can’t avoid fields from a large form, try splitting it down into little pieces on several serial pages with a completion indication.
UX Practices

- Labels and a short description of the objective should be included.
