They don’t realize that they need to be aware of the company’s business goals, how their work impacts these goals, and how to measure that impact.
Designers are hired to help companies to achieve their business objectives so all their work should be looked at through this lens.

Metrics for consumer-facing websites and apps

Consumer-facing websites are designed and used by the general public or consumers.
This type of website typically provides information about products or services, allows users to make purchases, and may also offer customer support or other resources for consumers.
These projects typically focus on user engagement, conversion rates, and customer satisfaction.
1. KPIs
- Conversion rate: percentage of users who complete a desired action (e.g., making a purchase, signing up etc).
Conversion rate = (number of conversions/total visitors)×100.
A good rate is between 2% and 5%. - Bounce rate: percentage of visitors who navigate away from the site after viewing only one page.
Bounce rate = (number of single page sessions / total sessions) × 100
A rate between 26% and 40% is good. - Session duration: average time spent by users on the site or app.
