My UX Good Resolution for 2024

Resolutions should be fun

Like every year, I’ve made some good resolutions. Unlike other years, it’s not about losing weight, doing more sport or drinking less coffee.
In my private life, I’ve focused on doing only things that give me pleasure: getting back to drawing, cooking dishes typical of every country in the world, making new friends.
Setting goals for the year that are not constraints, but pleasurable things that I haven’t taken enough time for in 2023, made me realize that I’d never set myself good professional resolutions.
After a little thought, here are the goals I’ve set for 2024, all of which are things that will both advance me professionally and give me pleasure to learn and practice:

Learn 3D design

Apple is due to launch its mixed reality headset later this year, which is bound to revive the hype for VR and therefore 3D interface design.
What I find most interesting about Apple’s headset is the interaction guide they’ve already provided. I have a feeling that this new type of interaction could be the first step in taking VR out of the realm of specialized devices. Interacting with interfaces without touching them is a logic that could be reapplied in video games, to manage a TV without a remote control or the options in a car.
