New AI Courses for UX/UI Design
While there were just courses on piece intelligence in the past, today, there are new AI courses specifically for UI/UX designers. I decided to compile a list of some of the ones I found most interesting.
Practical AI for UX Professionals
In Practical AI for UX Professionals, you can participate in activities that will help you develop competence in operational design, evaluate the results of AI models and identify appropriate ways to use AI tools. After the course, you’ll have a set of techniques to apply AI to your work immediately, and you’ll leave with skills to help you navigate constant innovation and quickly incorporate new techniques into your work.
According to participant feedback, the course is timely and informative and helps generate ideas you immediately want to implement in your work. The tips, techniques, guidelines and resources are very well organised.
AI for UX: Getting Started
It’s not a course, but there is a lot of material here for those who want to use AI tools for current projects. For example, there are tips on the UX tools ChatGPT and Midjourney, how to interact with AI and much other vital information to get you started.
IBM Design for AI
Without exaggeration, IBM Design for AI can be called a goldmine for those who want to learn how to harness the power of artificial intelligence from a leading IBM-level company. Of course, the learning starts with the basics from the team of experts who work at IBM.
I would like to highlight a section that explains how the team works on a project using artificial intelligence and how they incorporate the tools into their daily tasks. It’s an interesting case study and experience.
Google AI guidebook
Google AI guidebook is a platform where the Google team shares their experience, research findings, ideas, and best practices for creating useful and responsible applications using AI. The platform also provides highly interactive, visual, and accessible explanations of key AI concepts.
The platform offers tools and resources for your own research on Google’s templates, examples, and findings. To start with the templates, go to the next page:
AI in UX/UI by Uxcel
This course teaches you how to use artificial intelligence tools to improve visual content, streamline design workflows, and simplify time-consuming user research tasks.
The course is broken down into three levels:
- AI for writing and content strategy
- AI for visual design
- AI for UX research and analysis
After each level, there are quizzes to consolidate the material and then easily put what you’ve learned into practice.
Designing Human-Centred AI Products and Services
This is a six-week course from Hanyang University to learn how to design AI-based collaborative services and products that benefit human-centred values.
One of the interesting sections of the course is Unpacking AI Design. In this section, you’ll learn how AI has changed the approach to design by exploring different frameworks and understanding why human-centred AI-based design is necessary. You will also learn how to use tools and guidelines to align AI design with human values and how this makes AI more effective.
AI for Visual Design
AI for Visual Design is a ground-breaking four-week course. If you want to use AI to create a striking visual design, it introduces you to AI tools and demonstrates how to accelerate the creation of dynamic imagery. Through weekly video lectures, hands-on projects and group sessions, you’ll master AI tools such as Midjourney, ChatGPT and DALL-E, learn the art of creating effective cues and see how AI can generate dynamic images for various applications.
Artificial Intelligence is increasingly infiltrating various areas of design, including UX/UI, which requires new knowledge and skills. AI courses for UX/UI design offer unique opportunities for professional development, as they allow us to understand user behaviour better and automate routine processes. I hope you find this selection of courses useful.
