Product Design Simplified

Today’s Digital Product Designers are challenged to work with Ubiquitous Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Virtual Reality along with the mass practices.
In this scenario, understanding Human Psychology and Interaction with Computing Devices have become inevitable.
Let’s take an example of Smart Cars:

How many of us are comfortable using a self-drive or self-park option?
According to Auto News, 73% of SAE survey respondents preferred to share control with their vehicles. The article also shares user experiences where the user was not comfortable with the way the car was “behaving”.
It is clear that, in this picture, AI needs to marry User Behaviour.
Personally, my heart rate increases if I try to park my car with self-park mode because the steering movement is very rapid which I can not catch if try to.
Moving ahead, after 3 years, I still struggle with my landrover’s audio command because of the accent whereas Siri picked it up in a week :D
Users need to have control and ease while performing task with any interface .
All big companies are focusing on User Psychology along with Technology and Visual Design.
It is easy to find that Phycology is getting more and more related to Product Design.

Understanding Users Demographics, their Phycology, and Environment is the key to Designing any Successful Product.
In the previous car example, the user can be a 20 yrs old student to whom this car is more than a comfortable commuting device or a 40 yrs working professional to whom its a status quo or a mother of 2 who constantly needs to keep an eye on the backseat and need driving to be the as less cognitive task as possible.
Good Design/Designer considers and accommodates all such factors related to the target group.
It includes the Product and User Journey Analysis, Feature Mapping based on the Research, Information Mapping, and Structuring the Look and Feel of the Product.
If I have to put it in a nutshell: A Good Product is an outcome of continuous efforts of the User and other Stakeholders' Inclusivity, Reducing Cognitive Load, making the Journey and Interface Intuitive (if not, easy to learn), Making it Accessible (even to special users) and making it Aesthetically Appealing.
