In maths class, we are told it’s not enough to have (or guess..) the right answer, you have to show your thinking. It’s the same in UX.
UX people have jobs because no one thinks things through.
Typical UX project scenarios
Here are the top scenarios I’ve encountered repeatedly throughout my career, all of which need someone to help think things through:
a) We’re going to do <this thing>, and we feel it might be complicated, help.
b) We’ve been told to do <this thing> and someone important has told us not to feck it up, help.
c) We’ve already done <this thing> and it’s gone horribly wrong, help.
d) Some time ago we did <this thing> and we almost got fired, so let’s do it properly this time, help.
