So, You Want to Write for Fintech
This is what you need to break into the industry as a copywriter.

Understand your true interest
What makes people interested in Fintech in the first place?
You could say “high-load environment”. There’s so much going on in the markets—you can read Bloomberg for hours daily and still miss something.
You could also say “in the markets, every day is a new challenge”. That’s a fact. I’ve never seen as many conspiracies, scandals, and frauds as in finances. For me, it’s the most difficult and aggressive area I’ve ever written for.
You could say “it’s just so genius and elegant”. Yes indeed, Fintech is sophisticated. There’re few interfaces as elegant as those of banking apps or brokerages. Graphs and numbers can look beautiful if you put effort into them.

But those are just words. They are symptoms of interest, maybe good lines for your interview, but in my opinion, what makes people interested in Fintech is MONEY.
People want to be around money. And what’s the closest way to them than working for the area which goal is to make and manage money?
To stay in the industry, you need no formal background, but sincere interest is essential. If you want to write for Fintech, start with the “Why?”. You need to have something that will keep you going for a while. Fascination with money is a perfectly valid reason, and there’s so much more to Fintech.
Know that Fintech can be different
Now that you figured out your motivation, learn about your future space.
Finance Technology means using technology or innovation in the finance space. Fintech includes investing and personal finance, crypto exchanges, tax calculation, digital lending, investing, financial wellness, and payments. This is one of the most abundant areas, what’s important about it is this: you can always find something for yourself.
