Sticky notes 101: The unsung heroes of design

Sticky notes are humble. They lie quietly on the desk without drawing any attention and are self-content. But they suddenly unleash their magical powers when used collaboratively. Since they are generally considered as note taking tools their exemplary capabilities go unnoticed.

They were born out of an accident or a happenstance in the 3M lab, and after many failed attempts came to market, but since then found their way in many areas, workplaces and in methodologies or processes such as Design Thinking, Design Sprint, User Storymapping to name a few.
