In a day human thinks more than 50,000 thoughts and many of them are repetitive or random. When it comes to creative thinking, it would go beyond the limits of the system we are working on, also known as “out of the box thinking”

Well, “out of the box thinking” is not an easy task. It does involve brainstorming, design reviews, daily scrum meetings, sprint backlogs, scrum reviews, and many other methodologies. But the question is whether these “out of the box thinker” think “about the box” (system).

Let’s contextualize it by taking an example of a “sinking ship in the sea”. Here, the sea represents the whole product experience and the ship is one feature to experience the sea (product experience).

Now Just imagine what would happen when a ship(product feature) is designed without considering the sea parameters(whole product experience).

Well, we all know it will sink for sure. Similarly, features that are not aligned with the whole product experience will lead to breaking the user experience. Therefore, system thinkers could save the sinking product experience.

Let’s understand what is system thinking.

In system thinking, touchpoints and outcomes of each touchpoint are considered part of a bigger system to understand it in the context of other parts of the bigger system rather than in isolation.

In the context of the digital world, each feature should seamlessly be aligned with the whole product experience rather than in isolation.
