The end of Lorem Ipsum? Using ChatGPT for your UX writing needs
ChatGPT can write contextually appropriate copy for your prototypes at lightning speeds.

Lorem Ipsum might become the next floppy disc, or to really make y’all feel old, the next DVD. ChatGPT can elevate your prototypes with contextual copy at “lorem ipsum” speeds.
What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is Open A.I.’s newest venture into A.I. product offerings. You might’ve heard of Open A.I. last year when they really started off the boom of Text-To-Image A.I. models with DALL·E 2.
ChatGPT is a conversational approach to the search engine, and it’s proving a big hit. ChatGPT gained 1 million users in its first week and has caused Google, the search engine monolith, to consider implementing a more conversational approach to its search engine.
In honor of Lorem Ipsum, a brief history
Lorem ipsum has been the go to dummy copy for over 500 years. And it was written all the way back in 45 B.C. in Cierco’s “The Extremes of Good and Evil” [1]!
Lorem ipsum is used to show where text would go on a page without distracting the reader. It looks like English, is pretty evenly distributed, but the viewer will understand they’re not supposed to read it. This makes it super useful for designing page layouts and the like. So yes, I was being a little hyperbolic, lorem ipsum won’t die, but it should die in the realm of UX.
Why you shouldn’t use Lorem Ipsum for UX & Product design
The goals of print design and UX design are different.
Context and content matter in UX design. Especially as your mock-ups become higher fidelity, you start to seek feedback from stakeholders, and as you conduct interviews. We all know UX design is more than just visuals, so treat it as such.
