UI/UX Design: YouTube’s New Ambient Mode

This brand new mode that YouTube has for watching videos is way cooler than it has any right to be.

Massive shoutout to Sarkar for pointing out how this effect is actually pulled off. YouTube essentially uses two canvas elements to capture the current image of a video that’s playing, draws it to the canvas, and then applies the effect.
