What’s Needed: The design approach for Human-Centered AI

Designers need to be more involved in advocating HCAI. And it begins with educating designers.

Designing for AI products and services needs a new design approach.

And new skills.

Same for Web 3 products.

But most Designers fail to recognize this.

Isn’t this the same?

Advocating for user needs, UIUX, and UX core principles.

Well yes, user-centricity remains core.

As a Product Designer who’s worked on over 16+ AI and Web 3 products, I can say that designers need new capabilities and skill sets to design efficiently for these emerging industries.

A common problem I see is that Designers designing for Web 3 and AI products lack sufficient knowledge of the nuances of the landscape.

User-centered design needs to evolve with this new emerging technology.

Here’s what’s different:

1. Technological complexity:

Emerging technology is complex and evolving. This means understanding:

  • changing user mental models and helping users integrate into this technology
  • What new features are being introduced
